There are three of us-Karen is the middle child. As much of a headache as that can be, it's got nothing on the ones she's had over the last two years. Karen was diagnosed with Brain Cancer in May of 2009. Since then she has gone through chemo, radiation, four different surgeries and all of the associated struggles one would (or wouldn't) expect. Karen has a seven year old daughter named Kasey. Karen and Kasey both live with our mom and dad in Tampa, FL. As you can imagine, the constant visits to Karen's various Dr.'s, treatments and (unfortunately) the hospital, in addition to the responsibilities of raising a 7-yr-old have been a lot for mom and dad to handle. Though we don't have any other family in Tampa, we do have a great group of friends. Some of you have already given some of your time, efforts and support to help my family out during this very difficult time. Thank you all for your continued love, support and friendship. And for all of you unsung hero's who have already helped out so much already. :) I'm so glad to have you on Karen's side. All best, Alli |
